Slick Friction is also currently accepting submissions for a literary paranormal erotic anthology for stories between 12,000 and 25,000 words. We are interested in stories which draw from literature -- for example, perhaps one of Dracula's wives had a lesbian lover? Or Oberon and Titania brought a third fairy into their love-making? Or maybe one of the Greek sirens saved a sailor for the weekend? Any submission sent to us that fits this concept will automatically be considered for this anthology collection. More details coming soon.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

This information is the basic guideline for submission to Slick Friction Press. For detailed information pertaining to specific categories of fiction, please use the menu on the left.

Once again, all Slick Friction fiction should feature strong, adult female main characters. We are otherwise open to any variation of gender identity or sexuality.

And, we cannot stress this enough: we are not interested in publishing pornography or highly offensive material, such as pedophilia, bestiality or sexual assault. Any submissions containing any of the aforementioned material will be dismissed immediately and the author of said material will be banned from submitting to Slick Friction for life.

Slick Friction Press publishes short stories (1500-7500 words), novelettes (7500-15,000 words), novellas (15,000-50,000 words) and novels (50,000-120,000 words).

We also occasionally host flash fiction contests for erotic stories less than 750 words (and are particularly interested in full-bodied flash erotica) and fiction briefs (750-1500 words).

Flash fiction, short stories and novelette length material will only be published in electronic format. Novella and novel length works may be published in print as well as electronic format.

Submissions should be double-spaced, Times New Roman, font size 12 and sent as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or rich text format (.rtf) files.

All files should be named using the following convention:

title_author_wordcount

For example:

Snakes and Honey_Scarlet Madwin_22,548

The subject line of the email should read:

Submission for title, author, word count

For example:

Submission for Snakes and Honey, Scarlet Madwin, 22,548

Please only send us the first 3 chapters or the first 5,000 words (whichever comes first) as an attachment to your e-mail. In the body of your e-mail please include a detailed synopsis of each chapter (or scene) and a brief (150 words or less) biography at the end of your email.

We do accept multiple submissions, however, they should be sent in separate e-mails so they can be more easily tracked. Submissions that fail to meet these exact requirements will be discarded without being read. The editors at Slick Friction are extremely busy and do not have time to deal with those not professional enough to follow these guidelines. If you are serious and want your submission read, please follow these instructions closely.

In addition, we don't always have time to respond personally to each submission -- we do when we can, but don't expect a response. If we are interested in publishing your submission, we will contact you within 3 to 6 months of submission. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are acceptable, but you must make us aware of this in your e-mail and keep us apprised of your story's situation.

Slick Friction is looking for original material only and primarily first publication -- if you have a self-published submission, we may be interested in re-publishing your work, but only if you have still hold full publication rights and copyright. Otherwise, please do not send previously published material (previous publication includes web material as well as hard copy).

We will also consider out-of-print books if you hold exclusive rights to the material.
