NOVELLA
SUBMISSIONS
Slick Friction
accepts submissions for erotic romance novellas with word counts
ranging between 15,000
and 50,000.
Novellas can published in electronic and/or print. There are
situations where we may include 3-4 novellas in an anthology
and these will usually be theme based.
Submissions for novellas should be double-spaced, Times New Roman, font
size 12 and sent as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or rich
text format (.rtf) files.
All files should be named using the following convention:
title_author_wordcount
For example:
Snakes and Honey_Scarlet Madwin_28,750
The subject line of the email should read:
Submission for title, author, word count
For example:
Submission for Snakes and Honey, Scarlet Madwin, 28,750
For novella submissions, please send the first 3000 words of
your story as well as an in-depth synopsis of your novella as an attachment to your
e-mail query. In the body of your e-mail please include a
brief overview of the novella and a short (150 words
or less) biography.
We do accept multiple submissions, however, they should be
sent in separate e-mails so they can be more easily tracked.
Unfortunately, the editors of Slick
Friction do not always have time to respond personally
to each submission. If we are interested in publishing your
novella, we will contact you within 3 months of
submission and ask you to submit your complete manuscript. If you have not heard from us within 90 days,
you may assume we will not be using your story. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are
acceptable, but you must make us aware of this in your
e-mail and keep us apprised of your story's situation.
PAYMENT FOR EROTIC NOVELLAS
If your novella is listed for sale in our online
bookstore, you will receive 33% royalties which are paid
quarterly. If your novella is made available as an
electronic version from other retailers, your royalty rate
will be 20%. If your novella is published in print format, you
will receive 12% of the retail price. See our contract and payment page for complete
details on this process.
