NOVELETTE
SUBMISSIONS
Slick Friction
accepts submissions for erotic romance novelettes with word counts
ranging between 7500
and 15,000.
Novelletes are usually published only on our website.
We will, however, occasionally publish anthologies of erotic
romance novelettes with 6-8 stories per collection. These anthologies may or may not be
theme based. We also run erotic novelette story contests from
time to time. Check back often for contest rules and
deadlines.
Submissions should be double-spaced, Times New Roman, font
size 12 and sent as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or rich
text format (.rtf) files.
All files should be named using the following convention:
title_author_wordcount
For example:
Snakes and Honey_Scarlet Madwin_12,358
The subject line of the email should read:
Submission for title, author, word count
For example:
Submission for Snakes and Honey, Scarlet Madwin, 12,358
For novelette submissions please send the entire story as an attachment to your
e-mail. In the body of your e-mail please include an
in-depth overview of the story (at least 500 words) and a brief (150 words
or less) biography at the end of your email.
We do accept multiple submissions, however, they should be
sent in separate e-mails so they can be more easily tracked.
Unfortunately, the editors of Slick
Friction do not always have time to respond personally
to each submission. If we are interested in publishing your
novelette, we will contact you within 3 months of
submission. If you have not heard from us within 90 days,
you may assume we will not be using your story. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are
acceptable, but you must make us aware of this in your
e-mail and keep us apprised of your story's situation.
PAYMENT FOR EROTIC NOVELETTES
If your novelette is listed for sale in our online
bookstore, you will receive 33% royalties which are paid
quarterly. If your novelette is made available at online
retailers in electronic form, you will receive 20%
royalties. See our contract and payment page for complete
details on this process.
If your novelette is included in an electronic or print
anthology, you will receive a $25 flat fee plus continuing
royalties from electronic sales from our website as
described above. |
